Halloween Safety
While Trick or Treating at Halloween was great fun for me as a kid, the time came when it became dangerous to allow our children to go from door to door collecting candy from strangers. Recognizing this, many schools, churches and business have come up with some great alternatives for Halloween celebrations.
- Contact you local mall to find out if they will be offering a Halloween Celebration
- Check if your church will be planning a Harvest Festival or Halloween Party
- Ask your child’s school or local PTA if the school will sponcer a Halloween Party
- Contact the parents of your child’s friends and have Halloween Party at home
- Go with your children if you decide to allow them to trick or treat. Only visit the homes of friends, family, or neighbors that you know.
Halloween is a great time for interacting with your children by playing dress up. Remember you get to dress up too! So don’t forget to order a tiara or pirate eyepatch for yourself!
Loving the kids,
Kim
