Piggy Bank Collection at Kidoodles by Kim

I have spent so much time over the past month introducing you to our wide range of personalized gifts for baby and kids, I have not told you much about our personalized piggy banks.  We have piggy banks for babies, kids, teens and grown-ups.  We have piggy banks for collectors and piggy banks that are just fun to add to your room decor. We have giant piggy banks and small piggy banks.  I have so many piggy banks that I still have not had time to get them all on the web site.

This piggy bank is one that I personalized for my niece Katie. Every time I look at it, I think of Wilber in Charlotte’s Web. This piggy bank is a delightfully fat 7" x 6" x 6" and comes in brilliant yellow, orange, blue and green.

I keep a piggy bank of my own in the laundry room to catch the coins I fish out of pockets. If you have a large family you’ll be surprised how fast laundry money mounts up!

Grandparent’s Day is only a month away!

In 1978, President Jimmy Carter declared National Grandparents Day would be celebrated every year on the first Sunday after Labor Day. For 2007, Grandparents Day falls on Sept. 9th.  This is a special day to honor those who have not only raised their own children but are involved in the lives of the next generation of children.

Many of our older Americans are raising their grandchildren, or are helping to raise these children. Many of them are honorary Grandparents, developing warm, loving relationships with neighborhood children, or children in churches. There are women who volunteer to rock babies at the hospital nursery. There are men who volunteer at community centers to play ball and teach skills to children and youth.

Kidoodles by Kim recognizes the tremendous gift that Grandparents give to us, and encourage you to honor all the Grandparents you know in September.

Sweethearts Picture Frame and Money Bank

While most all of the products at Kidoodles by Kim are for kids or the baby, I also carry a few things that are a bit more grown up. This Sweethearts set is great for an engagement gift, wedding gift or anniversary gift.

The Picture frame is heart shaped and there is space for one 3.5 x 4 inch picture and one 2 x 2 inch picture. The frame itself stands 8 inches tall and will look beautiful sitting on your brides dresser next to the matching Money Bank.

Dressed in the same outfits, our sweethearts are sitting atop a heart shaped money bank. It stands 6.5 x 6 inches and it 2.5 inches deep. What a great idea for saving some cash for a first honeymoon, or maybe a second honeymoon!

Whether you get them for an engagement gift, wedding shower, or anniversary gift, your special bride will love them.

Remember, these item can be personalized, so be sure and let me know the couple’s names and I will personalized them for free.

Kim

Old Fashioned Phone Room Sign

Remember when phones had cords and dials instead of cameras and ringtones? This fun room sign reminds me of the phone that sat on my Mom’s desk when I was growing up. When I saw it at a recent show, I just had to add it to my collection at Kidoodles by Kim. It is made of 1/4 inch wood and is light weight enough to hang from a tack in your teen’s door.

I can just imaging personalizing this "Kim is busy, call back later!" The only limit on personalizing is the amount of space on the item. Since this has a large area, get creative!

New Line of Jewelry Boxes for Girls

This past July, we added a new line of Jewelry Boxes at Kidoodles by Kim.  These clever boxes are just the perfect size for little girl rings and bracelets.

Sitting atop each box is an adorable pony tailed little girl with a unique expression on each face.  Painted in raised letters on the bottom half of the box are the words "For My Girl".

A great gift all by itself, it would be a wonderful way to present your daughter with her first birthstone ring or studs for her newly pierced ears. Be sure and fill in her name in the personalization section and I will paint her name on the box for free.

Kitty Cat Money Bank

While Kidoodles by Kim has lots of styles to choose from for Piggy Banks, we have so much more in our Money Bank category. This terrific Kitty Bank is coin activated to meow a little "thank you" for each coin deposited!

I personalized this one for my sister-in-law, Jeni, so you can see how it will look with the name of your baby on it. When you place your order, be sure to fill in your child’s name and I will personalize it for free.

ALL of our sunglasses have UV 400 protection.

At Kidoodles by Kim we don’t even offer sunglasses for kids that are less than UV 400.  There is a good reason for this.

Ultra Violet light is invisible to the human eye. UV light below 280 nanometers is filtered by the ozone layer and rarely reaches earth. UV light between 280 and 320 is very damaging and is what results in a sunburn. UV light between 320 and 400 does not cause sunburn but is also damaging to the eyes and skin.

But although UV light is invisible, it is the cause of skin cancer and cataracts. You may think that these are illness only occuring in older people, but the damage that causes these illnesses occurs before age 20. As Americans we tend to think that a tan is healthy looking. But it could not be farther from the truth. A tan is a result of the melanin in the skin absorbing and protecting the body from harmful UV rays. When the skin cannot absorb the UV rays the result is a burn.

While light skin and blue eyes are the most vulnerable, even olive and dark skinned babys’ eyes and skin are delicate and susceptible to damage. While fresh air and outdoor play is healthy for your baby, please keep in mind these safety measures.

  • Use sunblock. There are many sunblock lotions on the market, some of which are designed for baby skin.  Keep in mind that one application will not last all day.  Reapply at least every 80 minutes and immediately after coming out of the water.
  • Wear UV 400 sunglasses. UV 400 protects the eyes from all UV light up to 400 nanometers. Dark glasses only protect from visable light, not UV. If your child protests the glasses, find frames that the child will enjoy. You can also attach an elastic band to keep the glasses on your baby. Wrap around frames are the best for protecting from light that can reach the eyes from the side, above and below. Remember, when I say sunglasses, these are NOT glass. They are plastic for your child’s safety.
  • Wear a hat with a wide brim or bill. A ball cap is great for protecting your childs face and eyes from reflected light.

At Kidoodles, we have a wide range of sunglasses and hats. Since we are still new on the internet, many of these products are not yet on the site. Keep checking back as new items are always being added. If you need something special, give me a call and I will do all I can to locate the product you need.

I strongly recommend you speak to your doctor or pharmacist about the correct sunblock for your child.

More than just a hair ornament!

At Kidoodles by Kim, our hair scrunchies are absolutely beautiful.  They are made of irridescent ribbons wrapped around a covered pony tail band.  Each ribbon is tipped in a matching sparkly butterfly. Their soft pastel colors make the perfect accessory to go with our tutus and butterfly wings.

This little darling was at one of my shows last summer. Mom bought her a beautful lavender tutu to wear over her own pink t-shirt and shorts. Since she had short hair, we put the matching lavender scruncy on her wrist!  She really did look elegant!

Clap your hands if you love Tinkerbell!

Welcome to Kidoodles by Kim newest model, Blythe.  This lovely little girl and her mother shopped at my store in Salem, Oregon last christmas and we took this picture. She looked so adorable in her new Tinkerbell costume.

While she looks quiet and calm in this photo, she had a wonderful time sprinkling fairy dust with her wand on every customer that came into the store!

While all of the items she is wearing are not yet pictured in my online store, I do have them in stock. So, feel free to call me at 503-856-1000 or send me a note and I will get them out to you!
